Ice-Cream & Beverage Facility Protected by C.O.R.E. HS-Walls

OVERVIEW

Kroger’s Ice-Cream & Beverage facility in Springdale, OH, required the installation of a new production line, which involved removing a large wall. This posed a risk of contamination from dust, debris, and other environmental factors. To prevent this, TuffWrap^® Installations collaborated with the general contractor, EGC Construction, to install its high-strength C.O.R.E. HS-Walls and doors. This solution ensured the safety of employees and products by protecting the facility from contaminants during the construction process.

CHALLENGE

TuffWrap faced the challenge of designing temporary interior barriers that would protect the facility during equipment installation while maintaining air quality and airflow. The project also had to be completed on a tight schedule.

SOLUTION

TuffWrap^® quickly installed its C.O.R.E. HS-Walls and doors, completing both installation and removal within a day. The walls were securely attached to the ceiling and floor, creating a sealed construction area. To control air quality, a HEPA filtration system was used, pulling contaminated air out through a ceiling vent and trapping particles within the filter.

Additionally, two zipper and roller construction doors were installed to facilitate easy access for forklifts, dump carts, scissor lifts, and personnel. The 10-mil thick polyethylene HS-Walls provided heavy-duty protection against dust and debris, ensuring air quality was maintained, materials were safeguarded, and project timelines were met.

Through its innovative and efficient approach, TuffWrap^® Installations successfully addressed the challenges faced by Kroger’s Ice-Cream & Beverage facility during the installation of new production equipment.
